The Town of Greeneville has received a $525,000 Community Development Block Grant for updates to its wastewater treatment plant. "It's for changing the disinfection at the wastewater treatment plant from chlorine to Ultra Violet disinfection," Greeneville Water Superintendent Laura White said. "It will kill 99 percent of all bacteria. It's a whole lot safer on the wastewater side to have UV."
